Hello my loves! I hope my video post on Halloween didn't scare you too much! Haha. I have been so busy adjusting to my new position at work and I am getting ready to start school in January. I just wanted to do a quick post about something that has been on my mind. I was thinking about how much easier life would be if we were all considerate of each other. Sometimes you get too involved in your own world, "tunnel vision" as I call it. If you take the extra time to consider the feelings and well-being of the people around you, life will be so much easier for you.

Hey lovelies! I know, I know... I have been the WORST blogger ever. But I have a good reason, really. :) I have been busy making some changes for the better.

Don't you worry... I am BACK and ready to write! As you can see, I have made some more changes to the site! Please leave some comments and let me know whatchya think. :)

I finally changed the song of the week! I chose the song "Maybe" by Ingrid Michaelson. I heard this song on the radio the other day and fell in love. I can really relate to it. It is all about letting go. I recently let go of a friendship that was going nowhere. I hope it was for the best. Who knows... maybe things will change in the future!

Helloooooo! Sorry I have been so quiet lately. Things have been pretty busy. A few days ago my dad went to an orthopedic surgeon because he found a lump on his knee. The surgeon thinks it is a mass and may possibly be bone cancer. My dad gets his MRI tomorrow. Please send good thoughts/vibes/prayers/juju our way. I would greatly appreciate it and I will definitely keep you updated!

On a lighter, happier note... today my parents and I went up to Mt. Charleston & the Spring Mountains. Basically the most scenic place you can find here in Las Vegas. We got to see some very pretty fall foliage and spent some quality time together. Here are some pictures we took!

I also received an award the other day from Liv (A Little Bit of Everything). Thank you so much girl! I saw this and it instantly put a smile on my face!

I just spent some time checking out Liv's blog and is definitely one that you all should see!

2. I am horrible, HORRIBLE, horrible with money. I can't save a dime.

Hey guys. Unfortunately, this is not one of my normal, bubbly, optimistic posts. I have had a pretty good day. I did a little shopping and grabbed lunch from my favorite restaurant. Still, I came home feeling empty. All of my friends are going off to school, moving to new, exciting cities, and just having new experiences. I am still here. Nothing has changed. I feel like I am settling and I don't like it. I thought if I told you guys it would help me sort it all out. I need to sleep on it.

Hello my lovely bloggy-buddies. Good news. I am finally starting to feel back to normal! WOOHOO! I go back to work on Monday. How have I been spending these long, lonely days in bed? Watching Grey's Anatomy and QVC, of course. Haha, :).

So I hope you all like the new background/header. There are going to be a few changes to my lovely little blog. The holidays are fast approaching and I am going to be getting real busy, real fast. In my last post I told you guys how I was teaching myself some basic piano skills and was beginning to write a song in hopes of crossing TWO things off my bucket list. Well, I have finished

lyrics to my song. However, writing the actual tune turns out to be a very difficult process. Especially when you have as little experience reading music as I do. As far as my piano playing- I am getting

better. I'm not looking to become a pianist. I just want to be able to play a few songs. So, if ANY of

you have ANY experience with writing music, know someone who does, or just have any suggestions...

Hey everybody! Happy hump day! :) Apparently it is National Dog Day today too. Arf! I want a puppy so bad, lol.

You will never guess what I have been doing. I have been working on some of the things on my bucket list. I figure since I am not in school right now and have some free time, this is the perfect opportunity. I will surprise you in the next few days as to what I am working on. :) It involves music. OH JEEZ! I can't keep it a secret! I am learning to play the piano and am currently writing a song! Those are TWO things on my bucket list. No, I am not taking piano lessons. I am teaching myself. I think I am doing pretty damn well considering I haven't learned any kind of music since 5th grade. The title of the song is "It''s Time." It will HOPEFULLY be done within the next couple days or so! :)

Just thought I would let ya know. Life is too short. Get to work on YOUR bucket list!

Here it is... what you have all been waiting for. Drumroll please. (BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!)

My 50th blog post. Woohoo. I feel like I just starting writing my little posts and now I am on my 50th. This is the longest I have ever kept up with something and it is all because of you guys! :)

So, obviously you haven't heard from me much lately. I have been racking my brain trying to decide what to do for this post. I decided to post the first part of my 18 things I've learned in 18 years. I will post 9 now and 9 at a later date. Here it goes.

18 Things I've Learned In My First 18 Years (Part 1)

1) Never judge a book by its cover. And by a book, I mean a person. People will always surprise you- first impressions aren't always accurate!

2) Not everyone is going to like you. There will always be AT LEAST one person who absolutely can't stand you & that's just life.

3) I have learned that nature can heal you if you allow it to. If you are feeling down, go outside. Look around you. Take in the sunsets, the trees, the wildlife, the rain, and the clouds. You will always go back inside feeling a little bit more at ease.

4) Everyone is always striving to meet society's standards. No one is better than anyone else, no matter what society says.

5) People just want to feel important and loved. Sometimes the people who need the most attention are the ones who need the most love. I don't care who you are, there is some part of you that yearns for acceptance.

6) Everything that you say and do will eventually catch up with you. Be careful.

7) Everyone interprets music differently. I may hear a song and think that the artist is talking about aliens taking over the planet. You may listen to it and think that the song is about two ladybugs falling in love. It depends on your situation at the time. Think about it, it's true.

8) There is a time to be funny, a time to be sad, a time to be serious, and a time to goof off. I am still trying to figure this one out myself.

9) You cannot survive without loved ones. You cannot survive without some sort of social circle. Well, maybe this one only applies to some people, including me. Life is so boring without those crazy friends/family to keep you on your toes!

Bonjour everyone! I'm feeling a bit French today. I just got back from seeing Julie & Julia starring Meryl Streep and Amy Adams. It was a great movie, as is usual with anything starring Meryl. I think you would all appreciate the "blogging" in this movie. I just had the urge to run home and write to you guys. I really respect Julia Child's attitude. She didn't take any BS and never let anything get her down. I really could learn from someone like that right now. Things at work are still a bit shaky and I'm letting it affect me way too much. My favorite part of the movie was when the head of the cooking school told Julia that she had "no real talent for cooking" and Julia stuck her tongue out at her. There is my new attitude! You don't like me? Well, tough. Let me stop talking about this before I get fired. Haha.

A few days ago I realized that this is going to be my 49th blog post. That means that the next time I talk to you it will be my 50th! Wow, that went fast! I am still deciding what I am going to post about next time. You will all just have to wait and see what I come up with!

I just uploaded the new song/quote of the week. I figured a quote from Julia was necessary. I saw this quote and I knew that I definitely needed to share it. "Tears mess up your makeup." It is such a simple statement but it is so full of meaning. There is no point in crying over stupid crap! Plain and simple. Stay positive you guys.

I chose the song of the week because it is just cute and summery. Is that a word? Well, it is now. :D Listen to it because autumn will be here before you know it. Hello my favorite blogger buddies! I hope your week is going well. Mine, well, not so much. I had a pretty crappy night at work yesterday. I came home, blood-boiling and just livid. I needed to vent...and believe me I did! I chewed off the ear off of anyone who was willing to listen. I am completely grateful to the friends who are there for me 100 percent and to my mother (who sat by politely and listened even though she was watching one of her favorite shows). I am still a little annoyed about what happened at work and I have to go back again tonight. I am determined not to let these things ruin my day. So on that note, MOVING ON! :)

Well guys, time to start another week! I had a very nice Sunday. I slept in late, watched some TV, ate some Captain Crunch cereal, worked for only 4 hours, came home, ate some really good pot roast, made my self a cup of my favorite chai tea and watched Madea's Family Reunion (which was a really cute movie, BTW).

Tomorrow I am off from work so I will probably just be hanging out at home and I am definitely going to watch the Teen Choice Awards. I know this is a pretty dull post but that is how things have been lately- dull but in a good way. :D

To keep this post from being totally pointless I am going to give you a review on a book I just recently finished reading and a list of 10 things that help me relieve stress.

I started reading this book about a month ago and finished it while I was in New York. If you guys have ever watched Laguna Beach or The Hills, you know who Lauren Conrad is. Despite this being her first novel, the book is very well-written. It started out a little slow and it took me awhile to fully commit myself to reading it. Towards the middle of the book, I was hooked. This book is the first of a three part series. I am very excited to read the second one when it is released. Regardless of whether or not you watch the shows, you should definitely check out the book.

Okay, now here are the 10 ways that I relieve stress. I hope you guys can try some of these tips and offer me some advice of your own.

#1- I always feel more relaxed when I put on Johnson's Melt Away Stress Dreamy Night Cream. I put a little bit on when I am going to sleep or when I am having a stressful day. The chamomile scent really puts me at peace.

#2- Driving also helps me calm down. I like to roll down the windows, open the sun roof, blast my favorite radio station or CD and just go. It doesn't matter if I am driving to work, school, shopping, or just getting out. I always feel more at ease when I am behind the wheel (unless I am stuck in traffic, getting cut off, or someone is driving like a maniac).

#3- Listening to soothing music (such as Enya, any of the songs from the score of Twilight, The Weepies, Matt Kearney, The Fray, A Fine Frenzy, or Five for Fighting).

#4- I like turning off all the lights and lighting a bunch of candles. Even if I am busy putting away laundry, working on homework, or writing an awesome blog post...just the gentle lighting puts me at ease.

#5- Reading is another great way for me to lose touch with reality for a little while and just refocus.

#6- Making jewelry is another way I love to relax. Any craft project really...like cake decorating, scrapbooking, cardmaking, etc.

#7- CHAI TEA! I love it. The taste is like a mix of pumpkin and cinnamon. I like it hot, iced, blended, whatever. It instantly puts me in a better mood!

#8- Driving through the car wash. :)

#9- I love the smell of Febreze. Haha, it's true. That smell always puts a smile on my face.

#10- Rain. Thunder. Lightning. I find it VERY relaxing.

Anyways, I hope that helps you guys. I'd love to hear what you do to unwind! All this talk about relaxing has me ready for bed. Maybe I will squeeze out another post while I am home tomorrow. We'll see. Have a great Monday. MUAH!

Is there really an Ugly Truth?

Hey everybody! Sorry this post is being published a little later than promised. I have just been working A LOT. We have to get ready for the Christmas season at my job! (Yes, I realize it is August. Retail America, however, does not.)

Anywho, last weekend I went and saw the Ugly Truth. I would recommend it for the 17+ crowd. It was definitely a cute movie!

I just want to say that I do not think women need to change to "win over" men, a fallacy that was definitely a theme in The Ugly Truth. I do not think that men are as chauvinistic as they are portrayed in this movie. Well, that's just my opinion. :) That is all I have to say on that.

I hope you all enjoyed the Charity of the Month post. I worked very hard on it. Next month is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. For that reason, I will be writing a charity post every week in September. Each post will be about a different charity that is involved in finding cures for pediactric cancer. I already have two charities that I am definitely going to write about. If you have any suggestions for the other two, let me know!

A couple of days ago I was looking for some inspiration for a new post. I stumbled upon an article on CNN. com. It is called "18 clever timesavers for super busy people." August Charity of the Month - Lotus Outreach International

Okay my loyal subscribers, you know what time it is! That's right, it is time for another Charity of the Month post. For August I have chosen Lotus Outreach International, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of abused and neglected women and children in developing countries.

Do you know the history of the lotus flower? The lotus flower, also known as Nelumbo nucifera, is an aquatic perennial plant. This means that this flower blooms in the water during spring and summer and dies off in autumn and winter. What is really extraordinary about this beautiful flower is that it grows from mud. It rises out of the dirtiest of mud at the bottom of a pond completely unstained.

You may be wondering what the heck this has to do with charity.

Well, the women and children who are taken care of by Lotus Outreach International have risen from their own personal depths of hell and become beautiful members of their societies.

This charity uses many different programs and partnerships to help aid in their mission to help these vulnerable people take charge of their lives. Some examples of these programs and projects are Buddha Smiles, Girls Access to Education (GATE), Consoling through Counseling, etc.

Many of the people who are assisted by Lotus Outreach are women and children who have been sold into sexual slavery and are victims of human trafficking.

Hello there! Here is that song of the week post that you have all been waiting so patiently for. :D I chose this song because I really like the message of love saving people who are lost. I think that this song is trying to say that people who are broken, confused, lost, or hurt need to find love and love others. Love pulls through and love saves lives.

I think this song, which some find a little depressing, is very motivational. It has been stuck in my head since they first day I heard it...in JUNE. It is really sweet and you should all download it! If this song sounds familiar, it was used in He's Just Not That Into You.

Hey there my favorite blogging buddies! Where have you all been?!? Haha, just kidding sillies. I know I haven't posted in like forever. Here's why. I brought my laptop with me to New York expecting to have a wireless connection in my sister's house. I figured at night I would blog and keep you all updated on my vacation. Turns out that wireless connection was non-existent. Bummer, I know. But, I'm back now.

I am officially a godmother. My niece's christening was this past Sunday and it was a lot of fun. The NY weather was gorgeous and a great escape from this hot, dry, 110 degree-and-up Vegas weather. I spent most of my stay in Brooklyn, my city of birth :D, and Staten Island. I did spend a day in Greenwich Village in Manhattan and went shopping in Soho. I rode the New York subway and of course with my luck, our train breaks down. The doors would not close so we all had to get off and wait on a small, smelly, HOT, steamy platform for a good 20 minutes. I do not recommend this mode of transportation.

I will post some pictures as soon as I can find the energy to do so. Also, as you can see I posted a new quote of the week. I just watched Breakfast at Tiffany's last night and thought that I would share this quote with you. The song of the week is still the same because I never wrote my post about the song. Expect it soon. :D

I will also be posting my August charity of the month post in the next few days. I know exactly which charity I will be writing about and I can't wait for you to read it!

About the jewelry giveaway that I had going in July- it is officially cancelled. I am truly sorry if you planned on submitting an entry or if you actually submitted one. Hey there. So I have had a pretty wacky couple days. Things are going crazy at work and I am so excited that I get to leave for New York in 3 days!!!! Woohoo!

I will definitely still be blogging while I am away, no worries. AND here is some more good news... I finally figured out what I am going to do for school. I am going to go to CSN starting in the Spring 2010 semester. I'm pretty relieved that I finally worked it all out.

In other news, lol, I am pretty BUMMED about this giveaway. Obviously no one is interested in participating. I am going to leave the giveaway up for 3 more days. Hello all! It has been quite a crazy couple days at work. Jobs are being cut and lost left and right. We all should be thankful that we have a job in this economy.

I have been so stressed these past few days. I have a feeling I will end up going to community college this semester. Universities are just way too expensive. I have been admitted to UNLV and now I have to start from scratch at CSN (College of Southern Nevada). Ugggh!

Well, I had a great day! I layed out by the pool for a few hours and worked on my tan. I was supposed to work today but got a pleasant surprise from my boss. Everything is slow and they are cutting back on payroll! Less money, more free time. Win-lose situation.

Enough about that. I hope you all saw my last post about my giveaway. I am so excited to be able to do this. If I am going to have a giveaway, something good should come out of it. So...I did start this post for a reason. I've noticed myself losing patience with certain people. I have a very low tolerance level and I want to fix that about myself. I sometimes get aggravated when asked simple questions, to do simple tasks, or repeat myself. It is unhealthy and something I am really struggling to fix.

Sometimes I find it helpful to look up inspirational quotes about what I am dealing with.

Hiyeee everyone! I hope you all like the changes. That header took me forever, but I had a lot of fun making it. Yes, those are candles!

Well, I posted a new song of the week and now it is time for me to tell you guys why I love it so much! It is such an inspirational song. It makes you want to jump up, do 8000 jumping jacks, cure world hunger, and be a better person!

The song is called "It's Your Life" by Francesca Battistelli. I heard it on an episode of The Biggest Loser last season. I loved it the first second I heard it.

Happy almost 4th of July everybody! I'm saying it now because who knows if I will be able to get online tomorrow. I've had a pretty uneventful day. I did a whole lot of cleaning and watched two really great movies. The first movie I watched was called "Weekend at the Waldorf." It was made in 1945 and starred Ginger Rogers and Lana Turner. I have been in an old movie kick lately! Anyways, it airs on TCM (Turner Classic Movies) from time to time and you should check it out if you get a chance!

The other movie I watched was "Pollyanna." It was made in 1960 but the movie takes place in 1912. It is a very cute movie about this little orphan, Pollyanna, played by Hayley Mills, who goes to live with her rich aunt. The aunt basically runs the town because she is so wealthy. Pollyanna helps change the perspectives of everyone in this little town.

One of the quotes in this movie that really caught my attention was, "When you look for the bad in people, expecting to find it, you surely will." This quote is from Abraham Lincoln. I've realized that maybe sometimes I don't expect goodness from certain people and that I should give them a chance. There is some good in everyone, they just need some other good people to help pull it out of them. My goal for the upcoming week is to try and look for the good qualities in people. Who knows? Maybe I'll see them in a different light. Anyways, you really should watch that movie. It is very inspirational, cute and funny.

I hope you all enjoyed the Charity of the Month post. I had to choose between a lot of really amazing charities and I can't wait to start working on next month's post. On Sunday I will be posting the new song/quote of the week. I have already chosen them and I think you will like them both a lot!

July Charity of the Month - charity:water

Hey there darlings! Guess what!? It's time for my first ever charity of the month post!! I am going to be posting information about charities for causes that I feel strongly about. You can choose to get educated about these causes, pass along the information, or get involved and donate.

This week I chose charity:water. Charity:water is a non-profit organization whose mission is to make sure that everyone on this planet has plenty of clean, healthy water to drink. More than 1.1 billion people do not have access to water that is safe enough to drink. We, as Americans, take for granted that we can go into our kitchen, turn on a faucet, and be provided with as much water as we would like. We tend to be wasteful with this extremely valuable resource.

Charity:water uses simple, cost effective tools such as freshwater wells, sand filters, and rainwater catchments to purify water for millions of people in developing nations all around the world. Charity:water was founded by Scott Harrison, a young man who devotes his life to charity and helping others.

Some supporters of charity:water include Adrian Grenier, Blake Lively, Alison Sweeney, and Jennifer Connelly. Are you interested in finding out how you can get involved?

You can visit the charitywater.org website and make a donation of $20 to help provide one person with enough water to last them 20 years. You can also purchase merchandise to help raise awareness about this heartbreaking cause. All proceeds go to charity:water. If you have a large amount of money that you would like to put towards a good cause, try sponsoring a well. You can provide up to 1,000 people with plenty of fresh, purified water. Hey everybody! I'm just getting ready for bed and figured I'd leave a quick post! I hope you all checked out that giveaway from Flyaway Jewelry. I found this quote online and fell in love with it. I've been having some pretty crazy dreams lately and this quote caught my eye. Last night I had this dream where I was driving with my best friend and we were going up a really, really steep hill. The car was struggling to make it to the top and I was terrified of falling backwards. I don't know what that dream symbolizes, other than the fact that I need to invest in getting a better engine with more power (hehe).

I chose the song of the week for obvious reasons. With all of the negative press surrounding MJ's death, a tribute to one of his, in my opinion, best songs is definitely necessary.

I can't believe that tomorrow is the last day of June. Summer is going by way too fast. Although, I am really excited for my trip to NYC for my birthday.

Yesterday was a tragic day for the families of these two pop culture icons. They are in my thoughts and prayers.

Hello friends. I hope you are all enjoying the new layout. I am working hard to keep things interesting! I had a really great day! I got to spend some more time with my best friend and the girls today! We went to see My Sister's Keeper and let me tell you, there was not a dry eye in the theater! I was blubbering. I really recommend this movie for everyone. The acting was phenomonal and this movie really taught me not to take anything for granted. Life is way too short.

So yeah, we did a little shopping today too! We stopped by Victoria's Secret Pink and I swear to you guys, I probably could have bought everything in the store. There is nothing there that I do not think is cute! Victoria's Secret Beauty is also having some great sales! I bought some fruity body spray and yeah, I smell like a candy store! My favorite purchase of the day is this ring I bought at Agaci. I saw it while I was checking out at the register and had to have it!

Normally, I don't buy jewelry unless I absolutely fall in love with it or if it is impossible for me to make myself. I like to make my own jewelry and design it how I want it.

I need some suggestions for my "Charity of the Month" post. I have a few in mind, but if you guys are involved with any charities and would want me to spread the word, let me know!

That is all that I really have to say tonight. Tomorrow will be a pretty laidback Saturday. I am going to get my nails done in the morning and work at night! I leave for New York in about 21 days! That means there are only 22 days until I turn 18. Basically, that means I can vote, buy cigarettes, buy porn, and legally have sex. Niiiice. LOL.

Hey there everyone! As you can see, I've been making some changes to the blog's layout! I've made two new additions to the right hand toolbar. I am now going to be posting a new song and quote each week! If you guys have any suggestions, let me know. You may even want to leave them in the new CBox. :D If you don't know what I am talking about, the CBox is the little message board below the quote/song of the week. Type in your name and start chatting!

I started this blog to document my life, the things I enjoy, my adventures, etc. I enjoy the feedback from you guys and if you have any suggestions about some things I should try, post about, or listen to...tell me.

Here are some new things that you should expect to see soon:

1. Charity of the Month- Each month I will make a post about a different charity (their goals, history, etc.)

2. Noteworthy Blogs- I am going to be reading a lot of blogs within the next few days or so and choosing some to add as my "favorites." They will be listed on the main page and I will encourage everyone to check them out. ;) Send me your URL and I will make sure I visit yours.

3. I will be making a post of all my favorite "tweets" from Twitter soon. Just some funny, inspirational, or interesting posts that I have seen.

4. Outfit of the Week- This is actually one of my favorite new additions! I am going to post some pictures of some favorite outfits that either I have worn, you guys have posted about/worn, or that I have found online. It is so inspiring, especially because I am starting a new chapter in my life. I feel like I am just beginning and starting over. This song tells us to take advantage of all the opportunities that we are given and to get ready to enjoy life and achieve all of our dreams. It reminds us that our lives are in our hands and that we have to take charge of steering our own path. This song is very uplifting and really boosts my self confidence! This is definitely a song that you need to add to your music library.

If you guys are wondering what I have been up to, the answer is not very much. I went back to work and that is where I have been spending most of my time. I'm looking forward to my 18th birthday and my trip to New York. It's only a month away! My best friend is still in town but is staying with another friend. Hopefully I will see her soon! I always have so much fun when she is around. My biggest goal right now is to broaden my horizons. I love getting to know new people. It makes everything feel new and worthwhile. As far as how my dieting and fitness plan is going, it tanked. Next week I will be starting over! I don't have to diet myself to death, but I need to be more conscious of what goes in my body. Expect some updates about that!

Summer lovin'...having a blast!!

Hiii everyone! Wow, it has been a crazy couple of days. I have been having so much fun with my best friend and I have missed her so much!! I was so brave getting my tattoo! For all of you looking to get one, it really did not hurt that bad. If I can handle it, so can you! There are some pictures at the end of this post! Let me know what you guys think.

I feel like I am really blossoming into independence. Did I mention that I paid for this tattoo by myself? Yep, I did. I get to go back to work on Wednesday, but atleast my best friend will be here for a few more weeks! Gotta start earning that money again! :)

I am a high school graduate!!

Hey everyone! Sorry I haven't posted in a few days! My best friend is in town and we have been pretty busy! Guess what?! I am a high school graduate! That day was sooo much fun.

And you will be happy to hear that I didn't trip!!! We went to Benihana afterwards and had such a good time! You have to try that restaurant- it is amazing!!

ANYWAYS... I am still sick. I went back to the doctor AGAIN and got an antibiotic. Hopefully I will start to feel better soon!

AND today I am getting my tattoo!!! I'm so excited and so scared! I will definitely be posting pictures later!!

Alright, I don't really have too much to say. I will posting some pictures of the last few days soon! I just wanted you guys to know that I am still alive and haven't forgotten you guys!

What's up pumpkins?!? I hope you are all getting into summer mode! I know I am. Good news, I'm feeling a lot better. I'm just not fully back to normal yet. I hung out at the pool today for a graduation party! You are not going to believe this but we were all sitting around a table talking and I actually forgot how the graduation march song goes. I sat there for a good 15 minutes trying to remember the tune. I still don't think I have mastered it. You would think that this song would be drilled into my head by now. Hah, sorry I just found that befuddling.

I want to make a shout out to my bestest friend because today was her graduation and I feel so bad that I couldn't be there (she lives out of state).

Memory Wire Bracelet How-To

Hello my friends! Sorry this has taken me a while to put up! Good news, I am feeling a lot better! I saw a doctor and he got me a prescription! Things are looking up! Anyways, this is my absolute favorite kind of jewelry to make because it is so easy and so cute! I am going to teach you guys how to make a memory wire bracelet!

Here are the supplies you will need...

Again, you can get these at any craft or beading store.

(The little silver beads in the lower left hand corner are just some beads I wanted to incorporate. The long, straight ones are called bugle beads.)

1 package of bracelet memory wire

Jewelry wire cutters

Jewelry round-nose pliers

A variety of beads (I like to just buy a little container of mixed glass beads. It's really cheap and you get a great mixture. You can use whatever beads you have laying around, such as silver beads, letter beads, clay beads, pony beads, stone beads, seed beads, etc.

First you need to decide how long you want your bracelet to be. Memory wire forms loops and never loses its shape. Decide how many loops you want to wrap around your arm. Just remember, the more loops you choose, the more beads you need. Snip your memory wire to the desired length.

Take one end and make a loop with your round-nose pliers. This is going to keep your beads from coming off the wire.

Next, start stringing your beads onto the wire. Some people like to follow a pattern and others like to just randomly string the beads on. I like the random way! :)

When you have just about 1/2 inch of wire left make another loop with your round-nose pliers. There you have it! Your bracelet is ready to be worn! Have fun with these...they make great gifts and additions to any outfit.

Hi everybody! Well, I'm still sick. I HAVE got to be better by tomorrow because I have too much to do to get ready for graduation. I had rehearsal yesterday and it is all really starting to sink in. Needless to say, I am not getting out of this bed for the rest of the day. I'm taking all my medicines and vitamin C plus I am eating tons of soup. On the bright side, I've caught up on all my TV shows. My mom has got me addicted to this show on Bravo called Real Housewives of New Jersey. It reminds me so much of my family because a lot them live back east where I was born.

I also got to watch the movie Bride Wars with Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway. That movie was hilarious!

Oh! I almost forgot! I got my cap and gown yesterday! It was really exciting for me. I never realized how HUGE those things are. It's like I'm covered in a giant parachute!

I am working on another jewelry how-to and it should be up by the end of the day. :) It is way easier than the last one so no worries!

WOOT! WOOT! High school is over! I had my last final exam today and I am very excited. Sadly, I am also very sick. I know, perfect timing right? I have a really bad cough and chest cold, but I am DETERMINED to be better in time for everyone's graduation parties and graduation itself!

Tomorrow I have to wake up really early to get to school on time for graduation rehearsal! I wish I could just skip it but it is mandatory. I can't believe all my finals are done, my senior check out card is signed, and that after tomorrow I never have to go back there again. Don't laugh, but I am really sad. Think about it! This is your life, everyday, for 9 months out of the year, for FOUR years in a row. Now all of a sudden it is like everything just goes on without you and you have to find your own way. I feel like a little bird just kicked out of the nest. Don't get me wrong, I am stoked, but I am also pretty sad.

Anyways, enough of that depressing talk! How did you like that jewelry how-to that I posted the other day??? I am thinking of doing another one in the next few days. If you guys have anything specific that you want to learn, just let me know!

Well, I watched the MTV Movie Awards and is it just me or does Kristen Stewart have a really awkward presence on stage? I just felt like saying, "Giiirlll, get your hand out of your hair, speak up, and put on a smile!" She is one of the most famous young actresses out there right now because of Twilight's popularity and she lacks a ton of self confidence. Other than that, the awards were really good. Andy Samberg did a really great job and I pretty much agreed with all of the awards.

In other TV news, who saw the season finale of the Hills?! I'm sorry, I just think it is really random to put Kristin Cavallari on the show. The story was based around Lauren Conrad and now it's just not going to be the same. I was pleasantly surprised that Lauren decided to attend the wedding. I hope everything works out for "Speidi." I have been watching a little bit of that jungle show, and I don't know if it is editing or to boost ratings, but Heidi and Spencer act like little spoiled brats. If it is fake, why would you do that to your reputation? You are acting like a bunch of snobby fools!

Sorry for all the TV talk, but I have been sick and this has been my only source of entertainment.

Getting hemp happy!

Heyyyyyy folks! Here's that jewelry how-to I promised! I thought I'd start off with something pretty inexpensive and easy to make. We are gonna learn to macrame (mack-krah-may) today! Macrame was a big trend in the sixties and is really cute for the summer months. Just remember to have patience and keep trying- no one is perfect at first!

Here's what you will need...

You can get any of this stuff at your local craft or bead store!

Spool of 20# hemp cord

3 beads (I like beads made out of fimo clay but you can really use any bead with a relatively large hole)

Scissors

Estimated cost of this project- $8

You will learn to make a simple overhand knot and square knots.

First, cut two strands (roughly 3 feet each) with one strand a few inches longer than the other.

Fold each strand in half and place them together.

Make a simple overhand knot leaving a 1/2 inch loop.

Now you are going to make a square knot. Your two middle cords (the shorter ones) are called the core cords. Your two outer cords (the longer ones) are called your knotting cords.

To make a square knot you are going to take your left knotting cord (LKC) and put it over your two core cords (CC).

Now take your right knotting cord (RKC) and put it over your LKC and through the loop between your LKC and CC.

I know this sounds really confusing. Look at the diagrams I made in paint. It makes it a lot simpler. Once your RKC is through the loop pull your LKC and RKC tight to form part 1 of your square knot. Now you will repeat this time starting by putting your RKC over your CC.

Then put your LKC over your RKC and through the loop between the RKC and CC.

Pull tight. That is your complete square knot.

NOW make 11 more (about 2.5 inches long from beginning of loop).

Insert your first bead onto your CC and continue to make your square knot around the bead. The two CC should fall behind your bead.

Make 2 more square knots and insert your next bead. Make 3 square knots. Insert next bead and make 24 more square knots (about 2.5 inches from bottom of last bead).

The average sized bracelet is between 7 and 8 inches. BAM!

Now you can use your loose ends to tie a knot through the loop that you made in the beginning. You can always trim those ends if they feel too long, just make sure to leave enough so that you can tie and untie your knot.

There is the finished product! :)

Simple, right? HAH! You'll get the hang of it. If you have any questions, let me know! I'll be happy to help you out. Make sure you post pictures of your finished piece!

My dress I just bought for graduation! It is turquoise, strapless, short and absolutely gorgeous. I just bought some new silver shoes to wear with it!

If I could be anything I wanted I would be a child psychologist or a kindergarten teacher. I love kids!

I spend money like CRAZY and sometimes I take my parents for granted. I also tend to "sweat the small stuff" and stop myself from doing things because I am afraid. I'm working on that now, trust me.

I really like that song! :) Well... I do. Anyways, how is everyone's weekend going so far?? Mine is going pretty awesome, even though I have spent most of it working. I've realized this past week who my true friends are, and I totally adore them all! Every single one of my friends have done something this week that has really made me smile. :D Plus, all of you guys who are following my blog have also made me happy. I guess that means that I can write this last week off as fantastic!

I just got done watching The Bucket List. I love that movie. How are your lists going?? You guys have gotta let me know what you put on yours, since I shared mine. :D Hehe.

I totally feel like I have been letting you all down. My posts haven't been that interesting lately.

I know! We can talk about my lack of workouts and a healthy diet! I am going to start off my summer by eating healthy. I need to go running a lot more, even if it is 103 here in Vegas. If you guys have any tips to keeping on top of fitness, lay them on me! :) I am a junk food, fast food JUNKIE!

Alrighty, so here are some things to think on while you sleep. What is your goal for tomorrow? Is it to exercise for half an hour, help a complete stranger, run your errands, or just talk a mental health day to refocus? What is mine? The title is a quote from Katharine Hepburn. What's up guys? I had a really fun night at work! (which is pretty rare, lol). I just found out how busy I am going to be in June. The week of June 7th is going to be NUTS! It is a Friday night and there is not much to do... I am either going to watch Fear, thriller with Reese Witherspoon and Marky-Mark Wahlberg, or the Bucket List. :)

Thanks Kayla for trying to help me cross some things of my bucket list. Looks like I will be going to Six Flags this June AND I am deathly afraid of rollercoasters. Plus, I am going to start training for a half marathon in December! Hahaha. This should be interesting. If you don't see any posts for a while, I passed out and died during training! Nawwww just kidding! I could never stop blogging, lol. I have the best followers ever!!

Our Paper Is Fly...

Well guys... today has been a really hard day. No, I didn't get struck by lightning, fall down the stairs, lose a pet, or break a nail... but I had to say goodbye to some of the best people I know. I HATE goodbyes. I haven't addressed journalism yet in my posts because this blog is about my future. However, it is only fair for me to talk about what was a giant part of my life for four years.

Each of the nine seniors were given the opportunity to write a brief story giving their goodbyes, what they'll miss, favorite memories, and what they have learned. Here is mine.

Just so you know, Nan is the name of our adviser. Melissa HerNANdez. :)

I am both looking forward to and dreading the day that I walk out of the newsroom forever. I mostly dread saying goodbye to the faces that have become way too familiar. I dread leaving the teacher that has inspired me not only to push myself and step out of the box in writing and design, but also in life.

I am looking forward to leaving high school and starting a new chapter. Even though journalism is not my career choice, it will stay with me forever. The experiences that I have had in the newsroom are impossible to forget. The singing, the gossiping, the whining, the laughing, the complaining over slow computers, the complaining over the lack of computers, the happy-dancing, the playful fighting, the playful threats to drain my braking fluid, and the reprimanding from Nan will always be in my heart.

This may sound crazy but most of my favorite memories in journalism happened during press week. Those stressful days that were spent arguing, laughing while slowly losing our minds, and struggling to get the paper out before deadline (which never happened by the way), were some of the best days out of the three years I spent in journalism.

I have to say, senior year on staff was the hardest yet. Senior year is when the people you work side by side with become family. In a family you have fights, disagreements, misunderstandings, and miscommunications. Fortunately, you also have laughs, memories, inside jokes, and a tremendous amount of love and respect for one another. I must say that there is not one person on staff that I would not do anything for, and that is the honest truth.

It doesn’t matter how long you have been on staff because once you join you become a part of this giant family. The new faces and voices I have become accustomed to this year have impacted me just as much as the ones I have heard for the past three years. I love you all.

I have some advice for people who are just joining the staff and the staffers who are coming back next year. Always remember that as much fun as you have in journalism, it is still a class. It will still affect your GPA and your acceptance to college. Also, this has been said many times throughout the years, but leave your egos at the door. You should be able to leave journalism with more friends than you started with. With that being said, do not make any enemies.

Put your best effort into everything you do and try your best not to procrastinate. Journalism is based mostly on deadlines-meet them.

Even though Nan can be blunt at times, she always has your best interest at heart and will never tell you something that you really do not need to hear. When it feels like you have had enough and that it just isn’t worth it anymore, look at the wall that is covered in awards, certificates, and plaques. Think about me and everyone else who has been on this staff in the past and has put hard work into making this paper great. Make us proud. Finally, be who you are. Do not be afraid to share your ideas. Trust me, there are no dumb ideas, especially when you have twenty pages of blank newsprint to fill.

I can guarantee you that plenty of us will be back in to visit. I hope you have something amazing to show us when we do.

With all that said, I feel really upset saying goodbye to a class that has really taught me who I am. Nan, you will never know how much you have taught me. You made high school bearable and I am extremely grateful for everything I have learned. You are a true role model.

To the staff of 2008-2009, you guys are awesome. You have all been there for me so much. Thank you. To all my fellow seniors, let’s all go do amazing things, but never forget journalism and the friendships we have made. I am going to miss you all so much. I love you guys and I’ll see you out there in the “real world.”

This is my baby boy, Oscar. Seriously, he is the wussiest little momma's boy EVER. Wind scares him! He is a lover, not a fighter. He is a 4 year old tabby cat. I've had him since he was 15 weeks old.

This is my girl, Coco. I won't lie... Coco is a bitch. lol. She only likes to snuggle with her momma and only does so on rare occasions. She spends her entire days asleep on the couch. She has the most gorgeous eyes, but she is deaf (literally). She is the hunter and always likes to bring me presents. She was a stray and we took her in. I wouldn't have it any other way.

I really must have nothing to say if I am posting pictures of my cats. I must look like the creepy cat lady!!!

I am learning some new stuff at work, ya know, crosstraining, and I have learned that I am not going to be good at everything. The only way I am going to succeed is by failing.

Are we human or are we dancer?

Greetings! :) So, this post is pretty irrelevant and unnecessary. I just wanted to talk about some things that I have seen on TV lately. Yesterday was the season premiere of "Intervention." That show is intense! I just want to say that if you know someone with an addiction problem, get them help. If you have an addiction problem, get help! Don't just sit back and watch your life slip away.

Also, yesterday was the season premiere of "Jon and Kate Plus 8," my guilty pleasure. Apparently they are having some severe marital problems. Some people think it is just a ploy to up their ratings. Personally, I think there is something going on there. However, their marriage is none of our business. I just worry about those kids, hope Jon and Kate can work it out, and wish that the paparazzi would cut them some slack (which we all know will never happen).

On a lighter note, this week is going by pretty fast! I have spent the entire day thinking it is Monday. That's just what three day weekends do to you I guess. There are exactly FIFTEEN days until graduation day!! I can't believe that this coming Friday is the last Friday of high school.

20 Things To Do Before I Die...

Hey there! How was your Sunday? Mine was spectacular. I have never had so much fun with my mom. First I took her to lunch at Panera Bread. I highly recommend the Greek salad by the way. :) Then we drove to two different tattoo parlors to price my design. Btw, I chose tattoo number 3. Anyways, I have decided to go to Diversity and instead of getting it on graduation day, I am going to get it the Saturday after. So yeah, I had a really good day and my room is finally clean! Moving on. I was researching some good blog ideas today and came across the idea to create a "bucket list." Those of you who have seen A Walk to Remember or The Bucket List know what I am talking about. A bucket list is a list of things that you want to accomplish before you die (kick the bucket). I am going to list my top twenty things and mark them off as I finish them.

1. Swim with dolphins

2. Ride a rollercoaster (I am really afraid of them, lol)

3. Eat real pizza in Italy

4. Get a tattoo (haha)

5. Go parasailing

Help Me Pick My Tattoo Design!!

What's up everybody?! I hope you all had an awesome Saturday! I had a pretty lazy day. I have so much to do tomorrow. I am going to run by the tattoo parlor to get an estimated price on my tattoo, which by the way, I am planning to get on graduation day! I need your guys' help choosing a design. I have it narrowed down to three. Please, please, please check out these pictures and let me know which one you like best or even if you have a better idea than me. Shine, Shine, Shine Over Shadow.

Hey guys! I hope everyone is enjoying their Saturday afternoon! 3-day weekend! Woohoo! Anyways, I thought I would post about my favorite song and my strange obsession with stars. :) The song is "Shine" by Anna Nalick. I am going to put the song lyrics on this post. This song has a very good message behind it and is the reason I am going to get a tattoo of stars. I recommend that you all download it.

Okay, so the story behind the song is that there is this person who is insecure, confused, and unhappy. This person has a friend (Anna Nalick) who is trying to reassure them of how special they are and how everyone is waiting for their personality to come out and shine. Anna Nalick compares this person to a star in the sense that stars only come out when it is dark because they do not know how worthy they are. She tells this person that they need to stop being miserable and fragile and just come out and shine.

In the third stanza, Anna Nalick says, "There are times when the poets and pornstars align and/ You won't know who to believe in/ Well that's a good time to be leavin." There are going to be times in life when you have to make choices and people are going to try and persuade you and take you off the right path. You have to stay true to yourself, let your personality shine, and follow your own path. At the end of this stanza, Anna emphasizes how you need to leave your past behind and just shine away. So, this explains why I like stars so much. Just remember, this is how I interpret the song, other people may interpret it differently.

So it is after midnight here in Vegas, but I am feeling pretty philosophical. Today was a pretty good day. It is so weird that these next two weeks are my last two weeks of high school. That's it. Poof. I can never go back again. The stress of graduation is looming over my head because I still have so many things to do before June 10th (which I like to refer to as G-DAY). :) I still have to buy a dress for graduation, send out all of my announcements, formally invite a couple family members, buy camera batteries, figure out how I am going to afford to get my hair and nails done, and get my immunizations for college. Here is some advice for class of 2010 seniors...DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE! All you class of 2009 seniors know what I am talkin' about...

Anyways, I didn't decide to post this blog tonight to talk about my lengthy to-do list. I found another quote that I really found relatable.

Most people say to do something at least once every day that scares you. This is along those exact same lines. I encourage everyone, not just my fellow graduating peers, to live by this quote.

Well...here goes nothing. Hey everyone! I have decided to start this blog because I am approaching a crossroads in my life and I have a lot to say about it. In exactly 19 days and 10 hours, I am graduating high school. Scary? Terrifying. Exciting? Thrilling. Sad? Absolutely.

I have really grown as a person in the past four years. I look back on the weekend before freshman year began. I was at a party at my cousin's house and his wife Kim came up to me and said, "Lorianne, these four years are going to go by so fast, you are going to blink and it will be graduation." I, of course, rolled my eyes and said, "Psh, yeah, I hope so." I never realized how right she was until recently.

These four years have been a blur. I have learned so much about who I am. I look back at my freshman year. I was shy, quiet, awkward, your typical freshman. Over the years, I have become way more sarcastic, opinionated, mouthy (I will admit), strong, confident, and brave. My best friend was telling me the other day about how she felt like she was braver and more confident freshman year. In other words, life got in the way, got the best of her. Of course she has had to deal with things that the majority of teenagers do not. She moved at the beginning of junior year and switched schools not once, but twice. Life happens. I, personally, think that it has forced her to become stronger.

I look forward to what lies ahead, so I really will not focus too much on the past with this blog. I will however take the experiences that high school has given me and use them in the future.

If any of you are curious, I am going to college in the fall. UNLV. University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Also, if you are curious about how I decided on the name for this blog, let me give you a quote.

I was born on July 18, 1991 in Brooklyn, NY. I have two older sisters, Jennifer and Danielle, both in their thirties. My parents and I moved to Las Vegas, NV when I was only about 4 years old. Needless to say, I am a west coast girl. I recently graduated from high school and am planning on attending the College of Southern Nevada in Spring 2010. I have 6 beautiful nieces and nephews who I love very much. My goal in life is just to be happy and fulfilled. I want to have a big family since I was basically raised as an only child. 1. My favorite color is yellow and I am completely and totally obsessed with stars.

I bet you are wondering what this blog is about. Well, not to sound like an ego-crazed maniac, but it is all about me. I'm at a crossroads in my life. I am growing up and becoming an adult. I wanted to have some way of documenting these next few years. Typically, I post stories about my day, my favorite songs, and thoughts that I want to share. One of my hobbies is jewelry making so every once in a while I will post an easy-to-follow how-to for a different jewelry project.

I figure if I am going to have a blog, I should put it to good use.
